University College School (UCS) in Hampstead, London has a very good reputation for academic success, not least for Maths. I have taught pupils from UCS and I indeed have a lifelong friend who went to this school.
When looking at my students’ Maths tests etc the questions were of a high standard which of course is great because one always wants to aim high to do well in the real exams. The “negative” feedback that I received from parents was that their child was left to their own devices too much or that they didn’t spoon feed the child. This is arguably a good thing. From my own experience UCS won’t say anything if the pupil is using a calculator too much for basic calculations. There will be an assumption, I feel, that the pupil can do it.
UCS offers both GCSEs and IGCSEs, with my UCS pupils doing Maths IGCSEs. It is a school that offers GCSEs, IGCSEs and A Levels but not to my knowledge International Baccalaureate (IB).
I can tutor pupils Maths from any school in Hampstead if anyone needs my help or anyone who isn’t sure whether they are struggling or not. I can of course tutor at their home or at various Hampstead locations if that is preferred.
